While we make every effort to ensure our program fees are as reasonable as possible, we also know that paying for extracurriculars can be a source of financial strain.
As part of our mission to ensure that everyone is welcome at Heartstrings, we maintain the Jackson Koeweler Scholarship Fund to help us to reduce the tuition our students pay.
About the fund
Jackson Koewler was a beloved part of Heartstrings. He was a lifelong performer who both served on our board of directors and directly assisted with many of our productions. He was the string that tied us together and has continued inspiring us to make our program the best it can be. He was passionate about inclusion and strove to ensure that every child who wanted to be a part of our program was welcome. After his sudden passing in 2021, we created this fund to keep his mission at the heart of Heartstrings.
Thanks to our donors’ generous support, we have been able to scholarship an average of 35% of students per show! We are now piloting a new program that includes both scholarships and sliding scale fees in order to better meet the needs of all of our students.

Donations to the Jackson Koewler Scholarship Fund go directly towards reducing or eliminating the program fees our students pay through scholarships and sliding scale fee reductions.
How does my donation help?
Full and partial scholarships
Scholarship applications for both full and partial scholarships are available for all students on every show registration form.
Applications are evaluated by a blind committee based on criteria that ensures equity, including financial need and program participation.
Sliding scale fee reductions
Ability to pay can be influenced by a number of complicated factors. In recognition of this, sliding scale fee reductions are available to all students.
We offer reductions at $250, $200, $150, and $100 on all of our show signup forms in order to meet these needs.
